Susan Harrow becomes General Editor of Legenda
We are pleased to announce that Susan Harrow, Professor of French at the University of Bristol, is the new General Editor of Legenda, having formally taken over from Jonathan Long (German, Durham) at the MHRA's Annual General Meeting on 17 May. Susan is a former Legenda author herself, and was already one of our editors in her capacity as curator of the Selected Essays series.

Susan writes:
I’m delighted to become General Editor of the distinguished and dynamic Legenda imprint. Our collective gratitude goes to Jonathan Long for his innovative leadership as General Editor (2017–25). Jonathan’s vision in growing the imprint and pioneering our Open Access mission has been transformational. Legenda is a major publisher in — and for — today’s humanities. I look forward to working with the series Editors and our authors as we shape the next phase.
Susan is the sixth General Editor to serve since the founding of the imprint:
- Malcolm Bowie (1995-2002)
- Martin McLaughlin and Ritchie Robertson (2002-2009, in alternating terms)
- Colin Davis (2009-2016)
- Jonathan Long (2016-2025)
- Susan Harrow (2025-)
