Warmest congratulations to our author Joanna Raisbeck, who has won the inaugural Klaus Heyne-Preis zur Erforschung der Romantik — the Klaus Heyne-Award for Research in German Romanticism. The prize is awarded by the Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main for an 'outstanding contribution to the study of Romanticism', and was awarded in recognition of Joanna's doctoral thesis. This is a big award, and is making national news in Germany, or if not quite that then at least being picked up by Die Zeit.

Joanna is a Lecturer in German at St Hilda's College, Oxford, which has just recently risked the rainy Oxford summer to take portrait shots of its people down by its (quite Romantic) river-bank. Here's Joanna:

Where can I read this renowned thesis, you ask? Why, it's a forthcoming book from Legenda: Karoline von Günderrode: Philosophical Romantic.
