We thank Emma Claussen, our former Communications Officer, and welcome on board Guillem Colom-Montero. By the time members read this, they may already have seen his tweets: Guillem is a great believer in Twitter as an increasingly powerful networking medium for academics — @mhrabooks is very much the place to go to see our activities spreading wide.

Guillem

Besides being a forthcoming Legenda author, which of course is always a character reference, Guillem is a Lecturer in Spanish at Glasgow. He specialises on contemporary Hispanic literature and culture, with a particular focus on Catalan Studies, transnational cultural approaches to tourism in Spain, gender and sexuality studies, trauma studies, visual cultures and theories of nation and nationalisms in contemporary Spain. As mentioned, his monograph on the Catalan author Quim Monzó will be out this year, and he has published academic articles in the Bulletin of Hispanic Studies and Studies in Comics, as well as pieces in Brave New Europe and the Catalan magazine Núvol. Guillem is also Reviews Editor of the Journal of Catalan Studies.
