Focus and Scope
The MHRA Working Papers in the Humanities is an electronic-only publication forum for postgraduate and established researchers in the modern humanities.
The "modern humanities" includes the modern and medieval languages, literatures, and cultures of Europe (including English and the Slavonic languages, and the cultures of the European diaspora). History, library studies, education and pedagogical subjects, and the medical application of linguistics are excluded.
The MHRA Working Papers in the Humanities are published annually, in October of each year. Special editions are launched every two years to encourage research in particular subject areas. The combination of thematic issues and regular non-thematic collections is intended to give focus and breadth.

Peer Review Process
As its title suggests, the Working Papers will allow researchers to present initial findings or hypotheses such as might, at a later and more advanced stage, become eligible for publication in established scholarly journals. While the working-paper format is thus more modest in scope and intent than the full-length scholarly article, contributors will nevertheless be expected to adhere to the highest standards
of clarity, argumentation and scholarly convention. Quality will be assured by a team of postgraduate reviewers and a senior editorial board of MHRA members (listed under 'Section Editors').
Publication Frequency
Journal items are published collectively, as part of an issue. The submission deadline is 1st May of each year. Issues are published in October of each year.
Open Access Policy
The MHRA Working Papers in the Humanities are available free of charge.
