The Early Reception of Miguel de Unamuno in England, 1907-1939

David Callahan

Abstract

Throughout the 1920s and 1930s the name of Miguel de Unamuno was well known not only in Spain but in England and the rest of Europe as well. None the less, he never managed to cross the divide from being a name to being an active presence in the English literary world, one who was used and learnt from by English writers.
