Q. Does the MHRA provide funding for postgraduate research?
A. The Association does not make awards to individuals as such, but the Research Associateships scheme exists to fund part-time research assistance for established corporate projects. [Further information]
Please note that the MHRA does not provide direct financial support for postgraduate students.
Q. Will the MHRA publish my doctoral thesis?
A. The Texts & Dissertations series exists to publish carefully selected theses of especial merit, usually on the recommendation of a supervisor.
Q. Why does a coloured box appear in the middle of the pages, obscuring the text?
A. The pages of the Style Guide bear a watermark which should simply display as a background image. You should be able to resolve the problem you have encountered by upgrading your version of the Adobe® Acrobat® Reader software. See our Downloads page.
Q. Can you provide an MHRA style file for my personal bibliographic software?
A. The MHRA regrets that it cannot produce style files for such applications. If the personal bibliographic software package that you use does not take account of MHRA style, we would encourage you to contact the manufacturer of the product and urge them to add this feature.
That said, many packages allow for the addition of custom styles, and you may find that your fellow users have created a style which they would be willing to share.
